Definition of Bathophobia
Bathophobia: An abnormal and persistent fear of depths.
Sufferers from bathophobia experience anxiety even though they
realize they are safe from falling into or being consumed by depths.

"Bathophobia" is derived from the Greek "bathos" (depth)
and "phobos" (fear).
